Salsa class in the center of NEW YORK CITY

You will develop solid skills and an appreciation for Latin tropical rhythm while having fun and creating your own personal style. Zamora School of Dance specializes in teaching "Salsa on one", also known as "World Salsa", as this is the way it is danced worldwide. The program is unique in New York in that South American steps, or "pasos", are taught in the advanced levels and integrated with popular NYC styling, which provide you with a large and rich repertoire from which to choose.

Carmen Sanchez : Director

Born in Madrid (Spain), Carmen has studied ballet dance since the age of 7 years old. She has studied in the best ballet schools of Madrid such as Danzarte or, Marta de la Vega Studio with the famous Spanish ballet teacher Julia Estevez. Carmen graduated in classical ballet from the Professional Dance Conservatory of Madrid in 1988. She performed in the “Ballet Clasico de Madrid” from 1988 to 1991 and taught at Danzarte from 1991 to 1995.

She, then fell in love with ballroom dances and more specifically with Salsa dance.

She first, took ballroom classes at Duque School, and then at Madrid 47 School.

Quickly she became one of the key ballroom teachers of Madrid 47 School .

But Carmen wanted to go further and decided to move to New York to participate in competitions, and to run her own school in the city of Salsa.

She participated and won many prizes (from third prize in Philadelphia to first prize in New York) in competitions in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, in Hustle, Swing, and of course Salsa.

She took over the school Zamora School of Dance and restarted it with the help of Hector.
